Great video for Music Saves III!

This is a fantastic project that Freeflow is lucky and proud to be a part of.

Shore 104.3 presents the third installment in the Music Saves series, in support of the Vancouver Adapted Music Society and the continued efforts of Canadian Music Therapists.

Music Saves is a music video based on the Playing For Change concept, where performances are filmed and recorded live throughout various picturesque locations around Vancouver, then edited together into one song and video. The video illustrates the power of music and its potential to positively impact peoples’ lives.

The Yale – Closing Party‏

For the whole month of November The Yale will be presenting its
Concert Blow Out Series, marking 130 years as Vancouver's longest
standing live music venue.

As part of the celebration Freeflow will be hosting tonight with DJ
Smoothie, as well as the Werewolves of Creston. It's also Mr.
Smoothie's Birthday weekend, so we're definitely going to turn it up a
notch. Going to be a delightful evening of great fun and good
cheer.....maybe even some B-Day cake if you're there early enough!

Wanted to also let you know that The Yale will be shutting its doors
this month....not for good, but for a least a year. Major renos are
going on in and around the building.

Wilson Padmos Benefit

Wilson, who is one of the original member’s of Freeflow, has been battling cancer for over three years. It’s been a very difficult journey, one filled with emotional and physical challenges. At this point in Wilson’s fight what is really needed is an incredible amount of love and support. On September 14th Freeflow will be hosting a very special event at the Yale, featuring many of Wilson’s musical friends. Come join us in what is going… to be an amazing celebration.

There will be a $10 minimum donation at the door, or feel free to send money to the posted links below. You can also help out by posting this link on your wall….tell your friends, tell your friends friends. The more people we can get out to support Wilson the better!

Wilson has Oligo-Astrocytoma, a very serious form of brain cancer. The cancer has spread and his remaining treatment options are very limited. He could really use your help.

Freeflow is part of the Shore 104.3 FM Summer Song Search, and as of Friday the voting part of the contest has begun. Voting ends July 25th and everyone is allowed to vote once a day! Freeflow makes the top 10 on Shore’s Summer Song Contest

While most people were watching the hockey game last night, Freeflow was eagerly awaiting Shore 104.3′s announcement of this year’s top ten Summer Song Contest winners. The band made was pretty honoured to make it to the top 20, but that would be like just making the playoffs, and not being invited to the big show. Thanks Raffi for scoring that glorious goal, and an even bigger thanks to all the Shore judges for choosing Freeflow as one of the top 10 finalists!

Going to need your votes to keep the dream alive…..will let you know how to do that very soon.

Here we go again….another radio contest. The difference with this one is they are looking for a specific song. A summer song. And we figured we had the perfect summery tune, “Sunny Days”.

We’ve made it through the first stage to the top 20. Now we need your help to get to the top 10. Freeflow with Friends this Thursday at The Yale

Freeflow is hosting a once a month night of musical goodness at The Yale.
This coming Thursday, May 12th, will be the very first!
The concept of the evening is that every month different musical guests will join the band.
This Thursday, Quest Poetic, DJ Smoothy (sax), and vocalist Dawn Pemberton will be joining the band, as well as other surprise guests to be announced very soon.
If you’re interested in coming down, please let me know, and I’ll put you on the Guest List….which if you come before 10 PM entitles you to a free drink!

Had an amazing show on January 29th at The Mountain Blizzard Festival in Rossland. Crowd was madly off in all directions, and kept feeding us, and feeding us. A superbly funky apres set by world renowned Krafty Kuts…..kid knows how to turn it up. Tomorrow we’re heading back on the road and hitting Rossland one more time, and then hitting The Central in Fernie on Saturday. Can’t get enough of that sweet Kootenay hospitality. Love if some of you were able to come for the ride!

New Year, New freeflow

2011 has come. And we’re really looking forward to what it may bring. Things are all a stir here in the Freeflow camp. There is a new guitar player, new direction, new songs, new energy…….

We’re going to try all this new-ness out over the next while as we’re on the road for a few shows around B.C and Alberta. Hopefully making some tracks on the slopes will happen as well . Another new will be playing Fernie for the first time. We’ve been trying to get there for years and now it’s finally going to work out. Can’t wait.

Writing, recording and re-inventing is our mission for 2011. It’s going to be a good year! Keep checking in to see how it all turns out.
